Ten Item Wardrobe Challenge

Recently, I was reading Lessons from Madame Chic: 20 Stylish Secrets I Learned While Living in Paris by Jennifer Scott  and thought I would take on her challenge – to pare down my wardrobe to only 10 key pieces. These ten don’t include outerwear, scarves, shoes, undershirts, or other accessories. I sometimes have trouble finding clothing that I know I have because my closet is filled to the brim (and my husband’s clothing always ends up over in my half).

Living with only ten items will be a challenge for me in many ways.

First, as I work full time and am going to school, I don’t have the time to do laundry more than every week (or every two weeks if I’m super busy). The apartment I live it does not have a washer or dryer – I have to spend half of my day doing laundry elsewhere.

Also, I love variety. I don’t know how I’m going to handle essentially wearing the same items on an endless loop – but I am willing to take on the challenge! Who knows, I may even adopt this simplistic and quintessentially European state of mind – fewer items of higher quality that accentuate your figure are always better than many cheap pieces that don’t flatter your form.

Stay tuned for updates and photos!
